So, it snowed in Georgia. I know pretty hard to believe. But I know it did. But it didn’t matter to much because Thursday is our flex day and we don’t have to go into the office anyway. I try not to go in on Thursdays because I can do all my work at home and I can take breaks and study my bible or journal or do other “fun” work things while I’m at the apartment. Like, today Becca and I rearrange our room. We were kinda bored, the Internet was down so I couldn’t do any of the things I was going to, but don’t worry I was working just not on the things I planned.
Becca and I decided that was time for a change of pace, plus we felt we weren’t utilizing our space. So we moved most of our furniture around, except for our dressers (which are a little heavy to move with all our clothes in them). What we ended up doing was blocking one of our doors so that we didn’t have two traffic patterns (room for walking) in the room, thus utilizing the space. So now my bed is blocking the door that we used to go in to. I am sure this will confuse all of us at some point, I know that I have already tried using it. So now we go in and out threw the bathroom door. We have a door that leads to the bathroom that leads to the hallway that leads to the main room of the apartment. I know I didn’t explain that extremely well, but these kind of things excite me.
I think they excite me because It reminds me of the time in my life where my dream was to be an interior designer. I took a class on it, and even went to a week workshop at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. I remember being extremely dissapointed that I wasn’t chosen for one of the two scholarships, I now realize that if I would have been I would not be here. In the workshop we all had to design a dock for a little lake in Lincoln. This lake was pretty small so I designed a small dock so that there was still a lake to enjoy, but apparently my design was to down-to-earth so it didn’t get chosen, and I’m not being bitter that is what they told me.
Anyway, ventured off subject. Being an Intern at AIM can be very stressful. I am not sure why, but it is. So most nights after we are done with work I basically lay in bed and watch TV on my laptop. So yesterday, when the youth group that we help out with was canceled, for the flurries that were coming down, guess what I did? Nope, I didn’t just lay around the apartment! I went out! I know shocking. I invited myself over to Connie Rock’s house (Connie and her husband Don both work with AIM, and Connie was home for a night by herself because since Don is the head of the High School Trips he had to go on a retreat). So earlier that day, Becca and I were talking to Connie and she said that she was having Ashley Musick (my disipler and next door neighbor) over for the night. So we called Connie and asked if we could come over. Us girls ended up playing Guitar Hero for about 5 hours.
I am so proud of myself for going over and stepping out of the box and being a little more outgoing, which I am definitely not. I know that Becca also blogged about this experience so here is her blog.
I had a great time last night. We should do it again. And I’m glad that our rearranging excited you. Your funny. I like it.
I am so glad that you are so happy about the snow. Wish we could send you some of ours. Remember it is the same things in life that are important. Don’t sweat the big stuff. Love you.
Look at those Rockin’ Chicks… man we’re awesome. I had a great time that night and I”m soooo glad you guys came to hang out with us. Anytime you don’t want to watch tv, come over to the apartment!
I’m so glad you guys came over! We’ll have to do it again!
